WHY THE FUNDRAISER?

Earlier in 2024, Jennifer lost her cat (Onyx) to a heart attack. It came as a huge shock and has greatly impacted Jenn's life going forward. As such, she chose to honour Onyx  by putting all the Net Proceeds of her upcoming book launch to the organization she rescued her feline companion from all those years ago.

She also watched two friends say good-bye to pets this year. She wanted to honour them with this fundraiser too!

After beginning to foster a feline from the SPCA, Jennifer knew this was an immensely important cause.

Pets are loved family members.

All animals deserve a good home.

HOW IT'S GOING TO WORK

It's a community-minded Halloween Party (dress up - you might get a prize)!

There is no charge for admission, games/activities, trick or treat, selfie station, goodies, etcetera.

There will be SIGNED books available. The purchase of every book and book accessory will be going to toward the Sudbury SPCA (net proceeds).

The more sales, the more the SPCA receives! Whether you're a reader, a book collector, or you don't read at all -- you can make an impact by joining us.

GETTING INVOLVED

Businesses:

Want to help us out? Post flyers, hand out brochures, share social media posts, talk to your customers about the event and get hyped! Make sure you come on out too.

If you want to get involved, please contact Jennifer through the website contact form, subject: SPCA Funds -- or on Facebook Messenger through "Author Jennifer J. Lacelle" (page).

General Public:

The best thing you can do is tell everyone you know and come out the night of the event!  Bring your friends and family. The more awareness we have, the bigger the party will be.

Other Questions

Physical Donations |    It is preferred that these be brought to the Sudbury SPCA directly. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11-5  (located at 21 Lasalle Blvd). If the Halloween Bash caught your attention and that's what drew you to make a donation, let the staff know when you drop off so we know we're making a change!

Monetary Donations |    The Halloween Party is totally free for anyone and everyone to attend (families, seniors, teens, adults, students). The Net Proceeds from all sales (books and book accessories) will be going toward the SPCA. However, if anyone does not accept their change from cash payments or choose to leave tips, these will be included in the sum going toward the shelter.

No Stock/Sold Out |    If all book stock is sold out, people can create and pay for orders on the spot. The Net Sums from all these orders will be included in the proceeds the SPCA will receive. The items themselves will be available for pick-up at agreed locations/times (once restocked).  Delivery or Shipping is available at an additional cost to cover the expenditure of postage/gas -- this payment does not include a sum toward the SPCA. Name, Address, Phone Number and Email must be provided for contact measures on stock arrival.

Payment Options |    Cash or E-transfer is preferred. Visa Cards are accepted; however, please bear             in mind that this method incurs a fee from the operating system and will reduce the net donation. There is No Debit, Mastercard, or American Express available.

Giveaways & Goodies |    The author, Jennifer, is providing treats and giveaways out of pocket as part of her own donation to the cause. No attendees are required to pay for entry, activities, snacks or gifts. We do encourage younger audiences and families to attend earlier in the evening for a pre-October 31st trick or treat bonanza!

The Books |    This is Jennifer's fifth book launch (and the final book in the Calling Down the Goddess trilogy)! Her audience starts at 15 years old (young adult), though she's definitely grabbed the attention of people out of their teen years!

She predominantly focuses on action, adventure, magic, emotions, coming-of-age and fantasy. She has also included elements of horror and loves to use Canadian landscapes for settings. All five books will be available for purchase at the event.

Thank You
